While fossil hunting on the Indiana shores of far south Lake Michigan a friend of mine found a crinoid with what appears to be a crystal inside. We find many crinoids here or as the locals call them "Coin-oids" but never one like this. It's bigger than the typical crinoid we find, so is it due to the size that the inside of the fossilized water plant crystallized? She was elated with her find, turned out to be the only crinoid found all day.
