That is the darndest thing! It looks like maybe a brass plate that was used to set or test type? A Type Press Plate? Could the cannons have been cut and crafted from a plate?
 

Just seen A.E. co. Utica NY on the back might have it tested to be gold or not
 

so what the scoop on these what the front look like are they a match
