Retired crusaderdad with time on his hands detected the bean field for 2 hours. I spent 6 wet hours over this weekend with 0 silver items. He pulls out a large silver plated item (probably off a walking cane). Hallmarked Chester (only our second Chester piece, 1st last week with Dads silver Fish) 1906 with nice details.

Also a nice 17th century spur buckle & a equally nice Victorian watch winder of a less common type.

Another good short hunt for the trainee & this means I must be building up for the big one ;)

Cool stuff. Even cooler that your dad dug it.

I'm still trying to get my dad out in the field.

Took over 10 years until he got interested, mainly because of the increased number of Roman items I was finding. He used to dig for me sometimes, then he used my back-up machine when I upgraded. Now theres no stopping him. Mum is not so happy :D
