Today I got on the forum to see what everyone was diggin due to all the rain over this way..Well I couldn't take it no more so I thought I would hunt the back yard again and dig some of those iffies up. TONS of trash but I did get one keeper and boy what a keeper.

As I've said before, this used to have a CW hospital on it and I'm for ever more finding something but I never thought this would come out. Took several hours and alot of trips to the trash can LOL

I looked it up and it's a Confederate Officers button. On the back it has HT&B over Manchester. ID # was CS36A1. These are two of the sites I was able to pull it up on.

;D make it about 10' south of the walnut tree and that would be the spot ;D

I plan on getting with one of the men who actually lived in that house..he has some old pictures of the place back in the 30' or 40's. Be nice to have copies of them for the collection.

3ringer,

Nice find, coincidentally I found the same button here in paris, tn. about 6 months ago.

The back was off but I recovered it from the hole...about the same condition as yours. I was going to have it appraised but the relic shop closest to me wanted to charge me for giving an appraisal on it so i opted not to.

In our area yards are great, got a spur and a couple bullets out of mine. You are in a Great area! I got a new computer and lost your email, I just got the new T2 and itching to try it out, too bad I didnt get a water machine with all this rain we're getting! Way to go on the button, thats on my wish list!! Congrats!!
