Could someone please explain how the pinpoint feature works how to use it? I have had the machine for a few weeks and am really liking it have found two mercy and about 15 wheats, and a ton of clad, yesterday found an old pocket watch but it was to rusted to see maker but neat any way.

Just press the button behind the sceen... The CTX will run in Pinpoint Mode / All metal for 5/7 seconds.

There are two pinpoint options... .normal and sizing. In normal, the signal gets detuned with every swing of the coil, to the point that eventually there will be a tiny peep only when the coil is directly centered over the target. In sizing, this is feature is turned off and you have "full strength" pinpointing with every swing of the coil. Personally I don't like normal, and only use sizing. But everyone has their preference. :)

Yep, And pinpoint hold is nice too. Seems like pinpoint works just like most though.

If you are referring to technique, then here are some things that I do:

I keep mine on normal mode and I will hit the pinpoint once and than again and hold. Seems to narrow down the pinpoint.

I will do one of two things, which is swing back and forth really quick and listen for the short bleep and then turn 90 degrees and do the same, and never really stop moving the coil, or I will hold and listen for the loudest audio tone and turn 90 degrees and do the same. Seems like swinging technique works better if there is trash around the target. The target will always be right under the coil rod for me. Targets that are under 3 inches will sometimes pinpoint just off the edge of the coil and are harder to narrow down sometimes, but I try and dig targets 4 inches or deeper all the time anyway.
