✅ SOLVED Cuff Button Dated 1865? Really???

Found in a park area where across the street was an early mill circa 1863. Button is marked PAT SEPT 19 1865

Thought I had a tiny button with bent shank however after a gentle cleaning the back area has now disappeared.

Button??-snap button-- etc. Any ideas a patent dated button a complete mystery.

That is a wick adjuster knob off of an old kerosene lamp, probably from an M. H. Collins Brass Kerosene Oil lamp burner which held a patent date of Sept.19 1865.[h=1][/h]
