Found this cuff link at an 1830's plantation site. I'd like to know if anyone could tell me how old this cuff link is? It has a flower design in the inlay.
the style of this cufflink or cuff button is late victorian it would have originally had a backing similar to that pictured below. i think this form of cuff button started showing up c. 1870s and died out c. 1890s. yours was probably originally gold-filled or rolled gold. the inlay appears to be mother of pearl, which was commonly found on these items. i would date yours to c. 1890.
