Cumberland City

I live in Southern Illinois and was wanting to know if there is a difference in detecting with Red Dirt compared to the dirt we have in Illinois. I Grandfather lives near Cumberland City and I will be headed down there in a few weeks. Just needing a little help being a beginner....
