Good morning:
Does anybody know what this bowl says and its possible value? Looks to be silver-plated copper on the outside.

usually I can figure out a place to start with letters and words, but I am scratching my head on this one.

if you say so

if you say so
Well....... not because i say so... but my opinion as to its origin.

I cannot read it... but it "looks" like it came from there.

i got nothing

No tiny stamped markings on it somewhere? Bottom, rim, anywhere?

Israel seems reasonable to me too but I don't know for sure.

Maybe Armenian

Welcome to Tnet Lonna.

I agree, it does seem to be Armenian. I believe the second word is “ԴՍՈՂՈՄՈՆ” which translates as “SOLOMON” in English (true translation, not just a transliteration of the characters). The first word I’m not sure about, compounded by uncertainty about what the first character is (repeated as the fifth character).

I would assume it to be a religious chalice or libation vessel of some kind, associated with the Eastern Orthodox Church. The Church celebrates Solomon, son of David, as a saint with the title “Righteous Prophet and King”. His feast day is on the Sunday of the Holy Forefathers (two Sundays before the Great Feast of the Nativity of the Lord).

Value? No idea I'm afraid but, as an unattributed plated copper piece of indeterminate age, I would guess someone might take a punt in the high tens of dollars. if you do some Googling you might find similar examples to give you a better idea. I assume there are no other marks on it anywhere which might help put an age to it.
