Curious about this item I found in a free box that was along the roadside. Its solid brass and about 7 1/2" long. It's too tall and wobbly for a paper weight. I'm thinking maybe a candle snuffer. It may have some other function. I'm hoping someone recognizes it for what it is.

They do make such a device that is used to stick in the grave mound after a funeral to put flowers in.

Its all one solid piece of brass. The inside of the cone is smooth with no holes or threads to hold it to anything.

Lawn dart? (kidding)

It's probably some special-purpose tool?
But for what? Although it is kind of ornamental in design. :icon_scratch:

This may sound crazy, but would another one stack into the first one?
