Rhode Hog and i were out a while ago detecting where lots of old pieces have been found.
He found this cut coin. But not sure what it is. The size is between a dime and nickel and the date shows that it would be on the top. It is silver.
The back looks very ornate. Have any ideas? Much Thx

Thanks daroofa for the id ,thanks NE for posting . Now, a question for all you Mass. tree coin people. Has anyone found a folded shilling? I have heard of one being found but, didn't get to see it before the finder unfolded it. During the Witch Hysteria of the late 17th century, shillings where bent in half for protection from the witches. If you find one leave it folded.

I would never even consider unfolding a folded Mass silver. What could be cooler than that find?
