I finally got back out to the field where my father and I found an 1802 Draped Bust Large Cent. The ground is somewhat thawed compared to what we chipped through to get the largie. About a foot down I found this litte copper coin, it appears to be cut, two sides are completely straight while the other two are somewhat rounded. I can't make out any detail but it is fairly thick (a little thicker than a large cent) and looks like it is kind of reeded on one of the rounded sides:

Could be an early copper the ones with edge writing were thicker 1793- 1795. But she's pretty toasty. Congrats

Interesting old copper coin, congratulations! :occasion14:

Huh, that's different. I like it

Throw that one in the mystery copper pile. But ain't it painful to not know? Nice find and keep hitting that spot.

Cheers
