CW Buckle !

I hunted a field yesterday where I have been finding some CW relics and a friend found a Confederate script "I" button. I only hunted an hour or so . I found a kepi buckle and a couple of pieces of melted lead. Not quite the CW buckle I had hoped for , but it IS a buckle and it IS CW...perhaps today I'll find that elusive Confederate plate...keeping my fingers crossed .

On a side note ...I was at the country auction last night and there was a hand written letter from the Governor of NC to the Secretary of War during the CW and a couple of Confederate postage stamps purchased by a friend and relic hunting buddy of mine. Never know where you'll find treasure.

Nice finds. Keep in there. If it's meant to be you'll find the fancier buckles. I found a CW calvery button Friday. I hope to find more CW stuff, but think this was where the soldier lived and just lost the button. I still have a lot of field to cover, take a while with one person doing it and the cut bean stalks don't help. I hope to get out there next year just after they plow and disc it.
