Ran to a CT. saltwater beach for low tide this morning
went to a fishing area off to the side of the beach where I got a bunch of silver coins last year
had a feeling there might be some gold there - I was wrong
got sinkers - lures and a few coins
I had not planned on hitting the waters off the beach proper - a husband and wife
couple that live down the street started hitting (hammering)the water together a few years ago
and don't usually leave much behind
- I used to get a fair amount of gold here years ago
my only saving grace here is - I use mask and snorkel and can get at least a foot deeper
than those two - I went out as far as I could and using a technique I call the "moon bounce"
or "ghost bounce" wearing my 7mm wet suit Im pretty buoyant - I will bounce breathe and drop just under the surface and swing in deeper water
its like walking on the moon
- doing this, I got a signal in all metal - bounced - scooped and then bounced back into water I could stand in - it was a rusty bobby pin - it sounded better than that - went back out - bounced - swung and got another signal next to where I got the bobby pin and thought it was probably another. I bounced - dropped and scooped and bounced back in again - I was surprised when I looked in my scoop and saw white gold band in the bottom of my scoop. Made the day worth while
