Daughter gets first finds

My youngest, 16, decided she liked my earlier mercury find today.
She actually ASKED me if she could go to the old house. Off we
went.
I gave her a quick lesson and let her go. She got so excited when
she got a hit. I saw that it was iron, but she had to learn. Check
out photos.
Her next hit, after stomping the hole teenage style, was penny.
She got 6 memorials out of one hole. I quote, "Oh my God! 1991,
the year I was born. YESSSS!"
She asked if she could go to the civil war site we are hitting tomorrow
morning at sunrise.....a teenager......she's hooked.

That's really cool that your daughter is hooked and she WANTS to go with you on your hunts. . .I wish I could get my sons (17 and 20 years old) interested. . . the wife is a hopeless case

I have to say, i have seen some really awesome stuff dug up while taking part in this forum. But man, I have to say that I'm seriously jealous that you have one of your kids interested. Any way that you can spend some quality time with a teenage daughter, is time well spent.
Cool looking kid you got there. I have a daughter too, enjoy your time together. I feel myself starting to get mushy so I'm gonna back off now.

Congratulations for raising a teenager who can enjoy doing things you like. When I was her age, I hate to say I was more interested in doing whatever my parents didn't like. I was rebellious but not apt to get in trouble, just thought I had to run with my crowd. I also would like to say she is one of the most attractive detectorists I've ever seen. I was detecting when I was her age and if I had seen her out metal detecting somewhere, I would of thought I'd found my dream girl. Congrats to both of you, and buy her a detector.
