Great finds! Thanks for sharing...

real nice finds. that mexican button is real early, I think the earliest in use with the republic of mexico crest. I have one that was dug on the west coast north of the border. you may get some nice reales due to your great start.

Thanks for the info , hope to find some Spanish silver.

A lot of history on those old haciendas. Good luck in finding more of it. Don't know exactly where you are, but in these times, keep your head down and your powder dry.

I'm in jalisco.

forgot to mention I wish I could help you with a value of the button. Unfortunately in this case my expertise are with pre-1865 US military buttons. But assuming it is an early 1820's-1830's button it will have some value; primarily for those who collect relics from the Texas Independence era. this button would be appropriate to display with this time period. especially for someone who could not find one for sale with a specific Texas provenance. this button could be a 'filler' type button for a display. My hunch is it is an officer's button but that is just a guess. again, I could be a little off as it is not US military. but I would not be way off. at the latest it is an 1840's button based on what I see. but my own educated guess is 1830's and from the other relics you found this would seem to fit. good luck finding more. there could be some real interesting items lurking about besides reales...
