I have little doubt this one is unplated. I threw it on eBay and will see what happens. Started at $14.99 and already has 2 watchers in first 5 minutes. Probably someone wondering if something like this will actually sell as they have one themselves.

I'm watching it now! I'm curious to see if it sells!

Well, as I said in another post: I have you to thank! I know all the errors and varieties to look for but never knew about these unplated varieties.

Thanks CC!

These are environmental damage or dryer coins. If you will notice they are slightly larger than a normal cent. Which implies a heat source has been applied to them.

I put another penny on top and below: exact size of normal penny with no over or under hang.

Aside from this, what do you see that implies this? Or what would a true unplated show that this on does not?

If its not, it's good info to have.

I am just going off information that I obtained whenever I found mine. The label has nothing to do with either coin was just laying on desk. As you can see the one I have is slightly larger and also you can see detail of heat. Very rough texture.

How funny searched eBay for completed listings and the highest one sold was a 1983 D I don't know. I posted it on lincoln resource I while back when I found it. I just relayed what I was told. Threw it in the error box I have. Just dug it out when I saw this post.
