Hello,
The coil of my Fisher 1280x Aquanaut happen to be dead. As I bought the machine used, Fisherlabs told me the warranty was not transferable. Nope.
So, my $400 machine needs a $300 repairs... No need to say Fisherlab will never hear of this machine again. This machine wille be my playground.
I don't dive, so no need of the 250 ft waterproof thing. I've two remaining choices:
- Either I find a damaged 1280x with a working coil (but this happen to be very rare)
- Or get a coil (Fisher or not) which can fit the 1280x 2.4 kHz frequency
Then get some screw lock waterproof connector and voila.
Fisher sells a spider coil for the 12xx and CZxx series that looks the same as mine, but I could not make sure it would work with a 1280x.
I would appreciate if someone could tell me he has ever attempted such a repair, what are the coils (brands, models) that could fit.
Best regards,
MC
