We started at a site we have hunted before. This is where I found the 1550-1650 era spectacle buckle last fall. On this site I found the mortar fragment (2nd from this site) and the two military buttons. One is a navy button and the other is too far gone to identify. You can still see "REGIMENT" on the button but that is about it. It's really thick and almost half domed. The bottles were found on this 1st site as well.

We then hit a new site which is in close proximity to where I found my 1st 8 reale. I got a couple coppers on this site including the 1854 New Brunswick Half Penny Currency. This is another new one for me. The soil was very kind to this one but not so for the other. It is in peroxide now but I don't have much hope of an ID. Also picked up the majority of scraps from this site.

heh! that brown jar... the one that says Wellcome Chemical Works on the bottom. Wellcome Chemical Works became Burroughs Wellcome which was the company my father worked for. Burroughs Wellcome merged with Glaxo to become Glaxo Wellcome which was the company my mother worked for. Then after she retired, they merged with SmithKline Beecham to become Glaxo SmithKline which it is today.
