Decent Metal detector in the $300 - $500 range.

I've been thinking the same thing and have watched several posts like this on this site. You'll get several answers but most will ask if you are searching for coins and relics, gold nuggets or working in water. There will be suggestions on watching Craig's list or looking at some vendors on this site for a used unit. Others will tell you a $59.00 Harbor Freight machine will work. I'll be watching this post. Good luck.

Thanks mailman, good luck to you as well in your search.

Thanks for the link RTR. Going to check them out!

What machine did you used to swing? Do you need new or are you okay with used. There are many used higher dollar machines in your price range. What features would you like to see?

Yep it depends a lot on what you want to find and where, and don't forget to include a quality pinpointer in your budget.

If your ok with used, you would get more for your money that way. You could get a used MXT that's as deep as any top end detector with the right coil, that way you wouldn't need to upgrade. HH

Ok here goes... I’d save up another $100 and look into the Minelab Equinox 600. I believe it has enough features that you won’t out grow it. The return on investment would probably be greater should you decide to sell it later.
My 2 zincolns!
Good luck!

Hey guys, I used to have a Garrett AT Pro. Really liked it, considering another. Live up in Northern, WI so have time before I'll actually be able to get out. LOL. I am not opposed to buying used if I can find a good deal. Thanks

=you will be happy with it , I even have a couple of them i would like to get rid of

Gare, why get rid of them?

Teknetics T2 bundle with Tek-Point and digger. 549 everywhere you look. Fair deal.
