Delicate copper buckle or ornament help

This appears to be badly corroded copper. As the photos show, there was some kind of pin for attaching to clothing or hair? Property is late 1800's . As always, thanks for your help. Quarter for scale.

I've found a couple of these, shoe buckle, probably late 1700's early 1800's. Nice!!
