These are taken from the top of Utah Highway 191 that goes from Price to Duchesne, Utah to where I connect to highway 40 east into Colorado. The last big town heading east on 40 is Vernal, Utah and then it's pretty desolate for the next 120 miles to Craig, Colorado. North of me is the Dinosaur National Monument and the canyons of the Yampa river. If you ever want to get away from it all this region is one place to go. To me it's every bit as awesome as the canyon country of southern Utah, but with a lot more space with less tourist to deal with. The late fall is the best time to go imo.
