Detector Choice

I'm currently looking to up-grade my current Whites machine and would like opinions on the new Minelab Explorer 2 as a land/beach detector?
What of other makes?

I've tried the Explorer II at Myrtle a few times. I really did'nt like it. I could not get it figured out.
I guess I'm a simple guy who likes to hunt. With the explorer most of my time was spent reading about how to make it work. Give me the soverign any day. I love how it works. It's never let me down. If it gives me a solid signal, there's something there. That simple. I still have my old whites eagle
II sl. Tried the spectum and hated it. In true life every day hunts the minelab has been there for me though. Not a bad thing to say about it. 8)

Me too.. I have a XLT and its right on alot.. Looking at a Tesoro Tiger shark. Its very popular in my club. It does both salt water and sand.. My club guys usually find thousands of dollars of gold rings a month. My club is small about 3 really active in the water. They find the most.
