I took the 8" DetectorPro HHUW out diving and snorkeling at a local swimming hole and have to say I like it. It will hit on small chains as good as a Tiger and is a joy to use with no control box to get in the way! Once you get the disc up high enough to break up the nails, it just clicks along and you know it when it's a decent target. Will be trying it in saltwater soon when all the Sharks get full! I just can't see such a low kHz hitting well on low conductors. But I've been told otherwise. Good luck with it and let us know how it goes. Another detector for me to consider.

I have only found a few mid conductors like nickels and they sound kind of scratchy. As well as zincolns. Dimes and quarters hit hard like a knock on a door type sound. It's hard to explain but I started trying to call each target and could almost tell when it would be a zinc penny or nickel. The chain and earring were just faint little crackles but repeatable enough to fan away some sand and investigate.

I'm loving mine. I find it hits hard on cents (both zinc and copper), dimes and quarters. A little scratchy on the nickles like you said. I've only found one silver necklace and no rings, but the necklace rang up real loud. I've had sens. at 8, disc at 1, so I dig everything in the water. Got plenty of nails to prove it. Still waiting for a gold of any type.
Yesterday I picked up three euro cents, a pot pipe, a cocaine spoon (looks like it to me anyway), lead weights, fish hook, etc. everything rang up real good.
Not too much hype on here about it, but there should be. Real good detector IMO.

ToManyHobbys, was this in saltwater? It sounded kind of like it was since I've found several pipes and one hitters at the beach, but none in freshwater. If so how did it run in saltwater vs freshwater?

Nice job Buddy, looks like a great hunt and a lot of fun!

How does small gold sound on a bench test? Usually if nickels are scratchy, gold rings are too, and small gold and platinum are discriminated out altogether.

Fresh water pond. Just ponds and river so far. Haven't had a chance to get salty yet.

How about the overall quality? Had a previous model and experience water leak in the headphone control box....

Cudamark, I will have to do some tests on smaller gold and compare sounds. I am not sure at this point. As you can see I pretty much dig anything that made a sound with disc up at 3 3/4.

Frogmaster, the build quality seems to be very good but time will tell.
