I thought about it, but the last really big blow there was Sandy seems like centuries ago now. It's 3 hours one way from here and with the price of gas, didn't bother going.

Yeah Smokey, I'm about 3.5 hours away. I didn't have the ability (schedule didn't allow it), but we follow the local Bethany Beach news because we have family with a place down there, and the locals there are talking about how much sand was pulled off the beach.
Below is a typical picture I found that sort of shows the situation - typical erosion, perfect time for detecting!
(I'm going down just after Memorial day for about 5 days...hopefully the detectorists will leave me something.)

It'll probably be filled back in by then. Good Luck!

Likewise, I thought about it but couldn't get motivated. It looked great but the locals will have it cleaned up by right about now. Its 3 hrs for me as well. I remembered they had just replenished Ocean City all the way up so that was a couple mil well spent but it dulls the option of fall back spots.

We should see a photo or two once they're sure its clean lol.

well wife had other plans for me as im at 3.5 hours away and my own place to stay but i will go down in 8 days and no one gets it all there is always a bit left for us old guys.

15 feet of sand needs to go in order to get back to the Sandy layers.
This is a picture from Coin Beach a few days ago (from a private group I’m part of).
Close to 15 feet (but more like 10).
