didnt get to hunt sunday but tonight i found gold !

well i didnt get to hunt sunday cause i was called out to work at 1am and didnt get home untill 5pm being very tired we just watched some tv and went to bed early, so now for the rest of the story ! since i didnt get my detecting fix all in this weekened after work tonight i hit the yard with the explorer to play with sensitivity settings to see if i could turn it way down in trashy areas and still find some good stuff and to see how deep it would go at a setting of 3. while i was out there digging a signal a guy comes up to me and ask if that thing would pick up gold ! told him it sure would and he told me a story of how one of his neighbors had lost one of her wedding bands. She was at work but this guy and his wife are friends of theirs and ask me if i would help to find it, they took me to the area and i got started, i did pass up a dime and a few penny signals and i was thinking that the ring could be anywhere and i wasnt sure if it was even in the yard and figured that i wouldnt find it, i was looking for it just five minutes when i got a good pulltab signal 09-07, and sounded close to the top of the ground, first signal that i set the explorer down so i could dig , got my digger out and thought no i better just look through the grass first , parted the grass and there it was ! i seen the roundness first and noticed gold in color, picked it up and by this time there were to young girls there with this guy and i said is this it ? i put it in his hand and the girls looked at it real close and got tears in their eyes and with a big smile said thank you so much the girls i'm thinking are the daughters of the woman who lost the ring and they wanted the man and his wife to drive them where the woman works to give it to her, so i found my first gold ring and also returned my first gold ring ! come to find out my wife and i know the woman and see her once in awhile at the store she works at i'm sure when we see her i'll get a big thank you from her also, thanks for looking and happy hunting

thanks tymcmurray ! yes i have forgave myself oh and i forgot to mention that this ring had been lost for a month and several people has been over there a number of hours on their hands and knees looking for this woman, the man that came and ask me to look had been looking for hours for it he said, man it made me feel good to find it in 5 minutes got me pumped now

Great story! I have returned two wedding bands and two Class Rings. One wedding band had been lost for 14 years in a pasture. The guy knew exactly where it was because his horse gave birth in the spot and that is when he lost the ring. He put me within five feet of it 14 years later.

I saved the other guys life. He lost his Platinum Band while working in the garden after his wife warned him to take it off. He never told her he lost it and I found it the same day he lost it. They divorced a year later.

The Class Rings had been lost for 30 years and 1 year respectively. The 30 year lost ring was good for a story in Western and Eastern Treasures.

Great feeling to do that for someone. I know that they will be your friend for life now!
