Hi everyone,

I discovered I had an old treasure and didn’t realize it. Here’s the story.

Many years ago, We found a piano on Craigslist. The lady who owned it said, “It’s free, but first come first serve and you need to haul it out.”

Me, my brother, and my father were able to get it successfully. Here is a picture:

It is a Baldwin Acrosonic. It has great sound, and plays great.

Today, just for a laugh, I looked up the model of the piano to see what it was worth. To my surprise, it said about 1000 US dollars for similar models. I was like, “Wait, how old is this piano, then?”

I doubt it’s truly worth 1000 US dollars, but I found the serial number and looked it up on the Baldwin piano website.

This piano, according to the serial number, was made between 1960 and 1965.

I was surprised.

Looks like I have a vintage piano, and didn’t know it until today!

Anyway, It’s a cool treasure I didn’t know I had, and I wanted to share it.

Thanks,

Jared

Looks like nice shape! Do you have a picture of the Keys and sounding board?

Nice piano and nice to find you have a good one.Luck with the lessons,I always wanted to play the piano and took lessons in my teens, but as my teacher kindly put it,I just didn,t have the talent.Big old hands but clumsy! Sincerely,I hope you do well!

Thanks.

I actually did more research on the serial number and found the exact year the piano was made.

1963.

As for the type of wood, I think it’s walnut, but I am not 100% sure.
