Today I spent some time at my favorite glass digging spot .The sun was high in the sky at almost 2 PM with temps in the mid 80's The finding was slow today for less than 2 hours of digging.Heavy rain and small hail chased me from the spot . I found 7 or 8 items to bring along back home My 2 little giants where an amber bottle embossed with UO CO and beneath that is the #18 I think on the bottom or the bottle. The other is clear and also embossed on the bottom with IRON GLUE MgC&Co And also found an ax head I do not know how old it may be but it was made by a blacksmith . Nice!!! Congrats!!!

It is hard to stay away from spots like that, nice digs!! I love finding axe heads!!

Yea I could go there and dig for hours on end IN MY MIND .However my body would have other ideas .And that would be the deciding factor A 90 to 120 minute effort is about the best I can handle anymore

Nice finds. Glad you had a good time and rewarded well. Congrats!

Thanks This spot has been a work in progress since about the year 2000 .It is large and while I have not found anything really old yet I still think it might be some older items at the bottom . The ceramic jug i found several weeks ago dates to about 1875 according to an Antique dealer I know .And that was not at the bottom . I am hoping for a mild summer so I can spend some time trying to find more items to add to my collection of old glass bottles . Sometimes the finding is good and sometimes it is more like work

Congrats! Tough persistence is the Key to success.

Looks like a couple of nice little bottles.

Well done, congrats! :occasion14:
