Gotta love the snakes, too .. well .. except for copperheads!

I've toured Ft Jackson many times, both forts are both on the MS River, you can reach Jackson by car, St Phillip by boat. Mostly heading further south on Hwy 1 to the end @ Venice to go fishing.

Fort St. Philip is a decommissioned masonry fort located on the eastern bank of the #Mississippi River, about 40 miles up river from its mouth in #Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana. It formerly served as military protection of #New Orleans, Louisiana, some 80 miles up river, and the lower Mississippi. (wiki photo) #civilwar
