Digging in wet sand and attaching pinpointer to metal detector shaft

When I dig in sand with water, the hole fills in right away. Is there anyway to slow down the refilling?

Also, is there a good way to attach my pinpointer to the metal detector shaft?

You need a good Sandscoop - period. There is no need (in my opinion) to use a pinpointer at the beach if you have a good scoop. We have great sponsors here that carry quality scoops and handles. Big Gold to you!

The added weight might also upset the balance which also makes a big difference is comfort for longer hunts.

Pin pointer on shaft would be set off by the coil windings if it is at the bottom of shaft .

I don't use pp at beaches, I just use a large long handle beach scoop.
