Yesterday I hunted one of my honey holes with some friends. I have not been to it in almost a year. There were 5 of us and we hunted for 6 hours. Everyone had an E-Trac except for one guy who had a V3I. Result was a total of 31 silvers between the five of us! 3 dime trifectas, walking half, barber quarter and a few Indians. I had a tri with 3 rosies, 2 mercs, a clipped barber and a 1883 Canadian dime so I'm calling it a grandslam. Here's some pics of my friends takes:

So today I went back and it was cold as hell and I could not find anything for the first hour. Then I hit a few early wheats and the rain started making it super miserable. Then I hit a nice 12-46-47 at about 8" popped the plug and a Barber quarter is staring back at me :) A few feet away a get a nice 11-45-46 dug a plug and got a 43 merc. Another hour went by with nothing special and I came across a high tone 12-44 at 4" dug it and got a smooth barber dime :)
Now I was pretty soaked and started walking back to the car and came across a 12-45 all the way down on the depth meter. Thinking it's gonna be a piece of copper pipe or some junk as there were no good targets at that depth at this park. So I burry my mini shovel and cut a real deep plug, flipped it up and at the bottom of the hole I see some kind of coin imprint. Scanned the plug and nothing, scanned the hole and it's still there at about 12" Hit the hole with the pin pointer and scoop out a handful of dirt and there she was an 1841 Large Cent :)
Did a happy dance and got the hell out of there. Those 3 silvers bring me to 342 for the year :)
Thanks for reading this super long post and HH
Enjoy the pics.

Congrats on the silver finds.

Nice coins and silvers

I'm curious about how the hunter with the V3i did? Also, are you closer to the left, right or middle of the country? Great hunt!

I was wondering the same thing. That would depend a lot on how well he knows the machine.

Well he did the best actually, finding a walker half, barber quarter and 3 barber dimes all coming from a 75 x 75 foot area. Most of the silver was at about 5-6" deep.

Thanks, I love it too. Turns out it's a key date w/ only 300,000 minted worth at least minimum of 100 bucks :)

Looks like a great hunt with some very nice finds... Congrats

Thanks bro, but you are from VA the land of super oldies. And looking at some of your finds you got me smoked! Even your avitar is in superb condition. I barely get any semi key dates, mostly just common stuff. HH!
