Here are some interesting pics of some of the pay as we got down to the Ancient Channel.The closer we moved to the edge of the mountain the rougher it looked .More quartz too.

Thats crazy! I looked up DirtHoggs location and they talk about the Quesnel River, Fraser River, and Caribou Mountains. I spent a week fly fishing about a decade ago on these rivers and others that all flow into Lake Quesnel. Was staying at Northern Lights Lodge at the time.

Hi Guys ,Yes we the channel is in the Cariboo Goldfields.Here are a few more pics.Check out some of the gold we call burnt gold.Our creek had a history of the natives picking nuggets right off the gravel in the discovery days.They called it sunburnt gold.The gold like all placer gold has some impurities and these are what tarnish and present the colour.Also the black is Manganeese Oxide staining.The gravels deep in the channel are all coated with this staining.The channel was found under a false bedrock layer that we accidentally punched thru.We were mining to this layer,turns out the creek shifted and glacial till covered it .Was 3 ft at thickest part,we would never had known it was there otherwise.The gold is absolutely spectacular!

WOW! About a third of that pan would be the take for 3 hours of panning on the Alaskan river I'm looking to prospect next year, but the gold would be a little finer (16 to 8 mesh). There's still good gold up North!
