My wife got me a used Garrett Freedom Ace Plus. I couldn't wait to try it out here in PA so there were a couple of days of decent weather that I took it out. I found a 1919 penny in my mothers yard and some 1940s pennies but mostly I've found junk and nails.

Is there any way to discern the sounds (beeps) I hear? outside of regular solid signals - it does react very well and strong to metal in general. I get some interesting beeps that appear only in one direction, erratic beeps and beeps that disappear or where the threshold sound changes and lowers and even signals that appear to shift in position. I use discrimination but I sitll get all kinds of trash. This model doesn't have a pinpointing feature or any identifying features. Any help on listening would be appreciated.I have some really promising old town sites for coins in the area that react like crazy every square foot and digging all of it is well close to impossible I would like to be able to be pickier about where I dig if possible to start. It is also an old iron works town so metal is abundant.
