Son and I went for a hike, saw a small stream running good that headed uphill into the woods. Followed it and found a neat spring last weekend. Thought about it all week, headed back there the first chance I got. Digging everything, was finding shotgun shell headstamps, not much new trash at all. Then I got a can signal, 22 on the nox, and dug it. Saw something tangled in the roots, thought it was another can, then saw it was copper or brass. Took my time and wiggled this out from under. Appears to be an old gunpowder flask. I has been flattened unfortunately, but I still like it. Same design on both sides.

That is a great find. In all the years I have been digging the closest I have ever come is the top to one!
