Detector(s) used
Garrett Ace 250; Minelab Explorer II
Finally I started detecting this year- not metal detecting but eye-detecting :). Just walking around I've noted that one field is shining like a mosaic. Hundreds of porcelain and glass peaces were there, and after 1 hour of looking at the ground I was already happy :)

"Saar (area in the west of Germany; now French) was, is, and will be german" - is written on it.

After that I took detector and came to another field which was on the hill - very good position for observation of approaching enemy in former times :)
Here is an overview of finds

and some are in detail.
French grenader button from late 1800s, unlike common brass this one made of aluminium

Awesome finds Sand! Where in Germany are you? I'm at Ramstein AB (Rhineland-Pfalz). I thought you might be close by since you found the Saar item. If you are around this area, have you met up with Birdman? Trent is always finding nice stuff around here. I have the detector in the car...I WILL get out sometime this week!

Keep up the great hunting!

It is very strange place - german, french and russian finds are mixed together - I think that it was just so nice strategical location for army then all military people ever been there tried to occupy it.

The only thing I can say Sand is "AWESOME"...did you hear that....Great find's and keep em' comin'..

I should look in library, what was there at that field through the time - looks like finds are not extraneous (were not brought with rubbish) as it occurs sometimes especially in this area
