When somebody packs up and leave all of a sudden, that's a good sign they found something. The hunt is over.
 

yea I thought that too.
Plus if the Dowsing Rod found the rock & Skull it wasn't a complete failure.
Just means keep trying.

They apparently Brought the Skull and jaw up.
The Jaw is Perfectly Placed where it belongs

I would think the skull, would have been the easiet signal or better put the most certain target to get an accurate id on.
