Let me start by saying how impressed I was to read Cheese's post about identifying marbles in the 'sticky' post at the top of this thread. I have copied and saved it on my computer for future reference.

Can anyone tell me if I have anything rare or special here? :icon_scratch:
These clay and glass marbles were all eyeball finds that I've made in my past 11 years of detecting. I primarily detect old homestead sites that were located in farm fields.

Thanks very much,
Dave

I don't think anything RARE, but all early marbles. The clay ones are the oldest.

Thanks for your post ARC, I'm feeling the same way you do.

Thank you for this smokey, the smaller clay marble still has red painted lines on it.

:dontknow:

You've got some older marbles, the glass ones being 30s--40s, the clay ones being a bit older. No rare ones though, unfortunately.

I like the swirls in a couple of those old marbles makes them unique to me

Thanks for your post Mark.
I know the clay marbles are old, but when do they date from? :dontknow:

I would have assumed these light blue and the dark blue marbles dated to the early-20thc. :icon_scratch:

Yes the swirls are 40s, the clay marbles are harder to date because they made them for a long time. I would say late 1800s to early 1900s.
