A quick hour at another neighborhood curb strip nets 2 keepers (for me)............

618 Hunt.webp 618 Keepers.webp

A '44 Wheatie (not all that common for me to find) and an '05 IHP (my 2nd in 2 days).............
It seems to me that noteable finds come in streaks (pairs for me thus far)............
Found my first 2 Buffs on back to back days.........
Found my only 2 silver dimes for the year on back to back days...........
Now, found my first 2 IHPs on back to back days...........:icon_scratch:

Not complaining, mind you..........it's just........freaky!!!!

Curb strips just went to the top of my preferred hunting areas!!!!!

Thanks for lookin' in and, as always, may all your hunts be fruitful...................

The whole hobby is freaky. Entire years can be streaky. Took me a number of years to find my first Barber half, and then I got three in that year. Some years I find a number of large cents...some years none. Depends a lot on where you wind up detecting. The mystery is half the fun. Enjoy it!

Absolutely! This is a pattern that you will experience throughout your detecting career...After digging several hundred clad quarters, working hard to dig my first silver one...and...boom!...3 silver quarters within ten days...2 Washingtons and a Barber...then I went on an IH cent run...then silver dimes...it seems once you dig a bucket list, or 1st coin, they come fast and furious...it took me over a year to dig my first Large Cent, then my second just a couple weeks later...but I'm not complaining! Have fun digging those coins and make sure to post the keepers!...ddf...

Congratulations and it's crazy how things run in streaks with this hobby. I'm not superstitious at all, and I can't explain it except for a crazy coincidence. Last winter I was on a 6 hunt in a row large copper streak. This spring I was on a 5 hunt in a row Colonial cufflink streak.... it ended, but I keep finding Colonial era cufflinks. I've found about 9 colonial and early 1800's cufflinks since spring. Prior to that I dug maybe 3 cufflinks in 7 years of detecting. Enjoy the streaks!

Yes, it's streaks. 600 wheaties in rolls for me, about 160 silver halves, a couple buffalos and cent errors since the end of May and tons of clad at the beach with a silver ring. Now next month, probably nothing.

If you ever find a gold coin, you BETTER go detecting the next day!

Congrats on the injun and wheat and yes this hobby can be freaky with streaks of good and bad luck

Just watch Todays Finds when one of the harder to find coins like a half dime, three cent piece, etc. is found. They go on streaks here too.

I have without a doubt had my streaks. Mine seem to be a little different. One year I may find 80 to 100 silver and just a few relics and tokens. Then it seems to flip, and the next year or two the silver is shy but the cool relics and tokens seem to jump out of the ground on every dig. Not even going to try to figure it out as long as the stuff I am finding is treasure !

Don't question why, just enjoy the ride. Looks like the curb strips are producing nicely Chizzy.

Thanks, Loco-Digger.....I think I learned my lesson about "anticipating" a couple weeks ago.........and it sure feels good to finally be on the older coins!!
Yep.......Curb strips........
Although the three 1800's country churches that have given me permission are beckoning..........if it would just rain for a day or two...............

Thanks everyone for your own personal experiences about the "nature of discovery"............

Keep the freaky 2 fer streak alive!!!!!!

Nice IHP and clean Wheat - love me some wheaties!

Great job on your oldie streak hope it continues.
