Do they lose depth?

Hey guys just wondering how much depth you lose in actual soil because as of right now Im pretty impressed with the depth on my 1350 with a dime hitn solid at 10.5-11", and my ace 250 hitn at 7.5-8" on a dime. How much of this impressive depth am I losing in the ground? Thanks

It depends on the type of soil and conditions like moisture content.

Agreed, it depends on soil conditions, I know I don't get as much out of my minelab in Arizona as I do in Northern Wi, where the soil isn't as compact & is wetter.

Im in southern Missouri where there seems to be more rocks than soil. So will your actual depth always be a little less than what the air test will show?

It seems mineralization can reduce depth 40% or so. Rocky and hilly ground usually has mineralization. An Ace 250, like many other detectors will ID down to about 4" in my soil. HH, George (MN)
