Because of baseball and other commitments, my detecting time has been cut way back. As most of you know, this causes a severe medical condition known as hyposilvemia (literally, not enough silver). DrDetector PM'd me the other day to inform that he'd be taking Wednesday off (he's a banking magnate), and he ended up putting us in a yard he's had permission to hunt for years. Apparently, it's been a long time since he's been there, but that's okay; the treasure wasn't going anywhere! The Dr was there when I arrived, and before long he had a no date Buff to his credit. Shortly thereafter, I found myself in the middle of a four wheatie spill. Three of these were from the fifties and the other was a 1945. Before I went out there, the Dr let me know that there probably wouldn't be a lot of oldies, but there could be silver; I was fine with that. My condition, though serious, wasn't so bad that only a Barber or Seated would cure it. Near the end of my shift (I had to go get the kids from school), I got a signal that started at 82, 83, 85 and ended at a solid 87. XLT users recognize this as a typical silver quarter, and I was pretty sure that's what I'd find. Sure enough, this 47D popped out and I immediately started to feel better. It will certainly fill a spot in the kid's albums. Also pictured are two Catholic medallions; the larger recognizes St. Patrick, complete with a green background. My thanks to the good Dr; I hope he was able to strike silver after I left.
