Does anybody know what this carving is. I found it near the Missouri River, it seemed out of place. It looks to be an x or cross but whats at the ends of the x?

likely a marker and now its removed you will never be able to find what it marked

How big is this ? Length - width, ect. To me it looks like something natural.

I have pictures of how it sat and the exact location. Just figured it was a river marker from the past.

It looks like a hoof of a horse or mule? Sign means gold mine or gold.
