I picked up this wooden jewelry box for $3. It has some brass decoration around it. It looks well made and looks even better in person. There is also a little side compartment. Whats cool about the side compartment is that it only opens up if you open the box first and pull a brass pin out which unlocks the side compartment so you can pull it out.

**I was wondering by looking at the pics if anyone can tell me how old this might be and what country this might have been made in.

~Thanks

Nice box - I'm guessing 1930 - 40's , but it could be older .

Cant tell how big it is, but reminds me of an artist box / paint supply box -----thET2WGQ9Z1111.webp

I think your right, AARC. It does look like sheesham wood from India. I also hope Mojjax is right about how old it is. I haven't seen one quite like this. Whoever had it took good care of it.

I forgot to mention that the box is 11.75" long

the flathead screws holding the clasp on is a good indicator of it being old, if it was made in the last 40+ years or so they would probably be phillips head.
