Does this look authentic? Found it under the seat of a used truck I bought.

Can any of you guys with sharp eyes tell if this is authentic or if it's modern? I found it under the seat of a used truck I bought sometime back. Thanks for looking.

Looks like obsidian. Try taking some pictures outside and also side angle shots of the piece. It Could be real but I'm not to good with that material types. Some spots look iffy to me but I honestly can't say Yes or No. it is cool though either way!
 
If the truck came from out west it may be real. You would need to put it under a scope. I use look through all the autos traded in at my Dad dealership. Cool find:thumbsup:
 
It virtually impossible to determine authenticity from a photograph. One has to look under powerful magnification.

Attend a relic show if there are any in your area and have some folks there look at it. Check the Central States event page Central States Archaeological Societies current show events

You may still get conflicting opinions.
 
The two middle photo's look like silver sheen obsidian material. Hard to tell by the photo if it is an artifact or not.
