Does Vibra Probe work well on cold or windy days?

Hi Everybody,

I currently use a tinytech and a wizard for pinpointing probes. Both work fine on nice sunny days. However, I do a lot of detecting on rainy days, windy days, and also during the winter. These probes do not work well and sometimes not at all during these weather conditions. I have been thinking about getting a vibra probe because it is waterproof, but does it work well at below freezing temperatures, or in strong winds? If not, are there any other waterproof handheld pinpointing probes on the market that do?

I also have the same problem with my GrayGhost headphones in the wind
and at below freezing temps. They are OK in the rain. The headphones that came with my XLT work fine in the wind and cold but are not nearly as comfortable. Does anyone know if Timberwolfs work at near zero temps or in strong winds? If not, any other brand you can recommend?

My husband needs some ideas for a Birthday present that he knows I will like AND use. He has already given me my XLT, my Eagle Spectrum, and
my Surfmaster so I think I should go a little easy on him this year.

Thanks a million, Maggie Macpoe

Wow,you detect in the rain, wind and freezing temps.Thats heavy duty. Your more deticated than I am.

Can't help you with the probe or head phones. But if my girlfriend liked to detect as much as you.(a dream of mine)

I would buy a nice coin or a ring ,put it in a zip-lock,and then put in something protective so a blade can not hurt it.And then bury it in the yard.Maybe tape a new quarter to it. Happy Birthday

P.S.
Do you have any single sisters :?: jk

Good Luck

I have the vibra prob 560 or 520, can't think of the # off the top of my head. It works great and you can probe about in loose dirt with it. I have used it in all type weather conditions.

Vibra Probe it is!

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I will be getting a Vibra Probe!

Hey Flash,

Thank you for the Birthday greetings. As for single sisters, I have two, but when it comes to metal detecting their only interest seems to be all the great jewelry I find for them. Sorry....

I used to date a great guy named Flash. You wouldn't happen to have a lightening bolt tatoo on your upper right thigh would you????
