Found this in house I used to rent yr's back,made of aluminum,smell's of powder but it's got a little more of an oily smell.No real residue to speak of,pretty clean,Anyone know.thnx.

This appears to be an oil can which is part of a cleaning kit fora military rifle. The soldiers rifle needs regular cleaning and oiling due to operating naturally harsh enviorment. There was probably another container that held the cleaning solvent. Some cleaning kits contain a single container that is divided into two separate halves, each with it's own spout and cap. looks like the cleaning solvent can provided to purchasers of the NORINCO SKS rifles made in china. More recently those are plartic. exanimo, ss
