Only been out a couple of times for a 1/2 hour to an hour with my 20 year old having medical issues. Today was a good day, beats most of my long hunts. Picked up a '18 and a '41 Merc plus the 1928 George V Canadian penny. One day earlier this week I found the 1907 Indian Head penny just under the thick grass but on top of the dirt, recent drop obviously. Looks like someone was having fun with gold plating. The buckle was found the same day. The ring is a junk kids ring. The larger button is newer and has no markings or info, the smaller one is from a religious high school. It has the image of Mary and Jesus on the sides, a cross with a sunburst on top and the initials IHS, the only religious school I could find in NH with an I in the name was St. Ignatius. I also found another ring I must take to the jewelry store to have them look at it before I post, probably junk but it loooooks goooood! 191811.webp191812.webp194121.webp194122.webp192811.webp192812.webp190711.webp190712.webp2016Misc1.webp

Congrats on some nice finds! Never seen a gold plated IHC before.... that would've had my heart pumpin!

Great finds! Cool Indian...

good job on the finds.

Congratualtions on the nice hunt! :occasion14:

Gold plated lady liberty in a head dress is a pretty sight, I like it!

Cool golden IH! In chemistry class we made "golden pennies" by first coating them in zinc and then heating them up until the zing alloyed with the copper. This turned the top layer into bronze - making the penny appear to be made of gold!

My two oldest sons took chemistry and they said they never did that in their classes, so I wonder who did??
