"Down East Beverages"

Hi,

Have a bottle with what looks like a painted on label. It says "Down East Beverages" and "Property of the Coca Cola Bottling Plant Inc" and has a picture of a sailing ship in the middle surrounded by the above. Anybody know anything about the history of these?

Hi Buckram,

I appreciate the info ... the ebay item was an exact match. Bottle came out of a dump that had much older bottles in it as well. But it was a surprise seeing the coca cola name on it ... never heard the other name before.
