Dug my 2nd shield nickel, merc, Old silver ring (need ID) & a mixed bag of goodies...
Hello friends, well this is my first post on the new Treasurenet, so I hope it takes ok. Before I post, just wanted to say I agree with many of the members who commented on the new layout, and I too do not like it. Enough said.
OK, back to detecting. Well, spent 4 hours at an old picnic grove which goes back 100 to 150 years in my home town of Shamokin, PA. Between dodging the rain, I'd say I had a pretty good day yesterday.
I found this what looks like to be a very old silver ring with a lot of markings, says STERLING inside and read a strong quarter signal on my Eagle Spectrum. Can anybody ID it?
Also dug my 2nd Shield Nickel in 19 years of detecting, a 41 merc, a 43 war nickel, and 3 wheat pennies.
I got 3 strong quarter signals a few feet from each other, and I said to myself before I dug 'em these are silver quarters. Dug 'em up, 3 sealed plastic containers with antique care coins inside. Ya just never know what your gonna dig. Thanks for looking and happy hunting...............Rich
