dump diving again

After a few hours MDing at a tot lot I needed to hit the nearby dump for another fix. Found assorted heavy iron objects, a large hinge, small bottle "insist on Virginia Dare flavors," a possible bit, and a busted stopwatch.

Can someone please verify if this is a bit or no? It was the subject of family debate and I recall seeing one pictured before.

Also included my 12 YO daughter's favorite find thus far, a small heart-shaped bottle.

It's all good. Congrats. I like that little bottle, too, your daughter knows a good thing when she sees it. And the pocketwatch is a keeper even if the face is damaged. Good job with the dump diving. It's fun, isn't it!!

Thanks for the help with the bit everyone! My horse loving daughters will be pleased.

I thought the watch was a pocket watch at first but after holding it in my hand I decided it must be a stopwatch due to the offset of the top button. Wouldn't a pocket watch have it straight over the 12? I could find no i.d. or date on it anywhere but it's pretty hefty. Into the treasure box it goes!

The fantastic thing was I found the stuff pictured above (minus the heart bottle) in a spare 30 minutes before lunch. This dump is about a 3 minute walk from our house. With Spring Break next week I hope to hit it hard before the poison ivy and mosquitoes show up. Now if I can just get our neighbor's four dogs to quit barking at me.....
