Dumping NIFC's

I always pull the NIFC's out and keep them, not necessarily because I want to keep them but that way when I get a box with NIFC's in it, regardless of whether there is or isn't silver in it I know I'm not just fully recycling on myself. That being said I have just over a grand in NIFC's saved up that I want to get rid of but don't want to just release back into circulation. Any thoughts are appreciated - thanks.

Had a massive haul of one 1964-D Rosie this week - was actually thrilled to see it. Had eaten a lot of skunk boxes recently.

I don't know if there is a good way to do that.... But maybe marking the coins will help you determine how fast they come back to you in boxes if you do just deposit them back at a bank. I don't mark myself, but others here do so. I know coin shops won't take them.

Maybe a casino that uses halves? Not sure if they just recycle through the coin they use at tables and such...

Man i wish i had the funds to be able to keep $1000 worth of non silver halves for the next generation...

Twitch maybe see if you can sell them in lots on ebay for a small premium- even if you break even you get them into "collectors" hands who wont dumo them and even if they do they are out of your area

Could always spend them. $1000 should last a while, and spending ~$5 here and there in halves is pretty fun. Some will probably end back up in the supply, but hopefully more will stay out of it than just plain dumping.

There seems to be a pretty limited marker for them. I had a bag that had something like 700$ was NIFCs i pulled them all out and listed them on ebay and after about a month of them sitting there, i think i made about 10$ profit. Better than dumping i guess...but barely. I would imagine you would get more breaking them into a " one of each year / mint make set... But the amount of time involved in that would have killed me. Hope you find a better option

the way i see it is someone bought them from the mint ( rolls or bags) went an cherry picked them and dumped these . I used to save a roll of ea. year but took what i had cashed them in and used the funds to build a Indian head penny book. I know it will have at least some value in the future if I buy good coins at a desert price. YMMV

I agree with land pirate.
If you take a thousand dollars and buy high grade 1900-1930s pennies and nickels or other coins of numismatic value, in 10 years you'll have coins worth more than $1000.

If you track the values of non silver Kennedy halves (proofs, NIFCs, regular strikes)
They haven't moved, and it is hard to tell if they ever will.

I would suggest going thru your NIFC and creating full sets to put on eBay, you might make some money there.

I keep a set of NIFCs as part of my Kennedy half dollar collection.
Otherwise, dump them!

I used to do the exact same thing, keep them and if I found boxes with them , knew it wasnt all my rejects. After getting to between 700-1000 face 2 or 3 times it gets old..lol. I dumped mine out of my area visiting my mom, 2 boxes at a time, rerolled. I stopped saving them myself, now seems every box has some.

try to keep a roll of each Dates and mints.... the rest go back into circulation.

At my LC I can sometimes trade in coins, so maybe you can get better coins.
